This is the Taichung skyline from my hotel.  This is probably a city of about 1 million people in the central part of the West Coast of Taiwan

This is also a picture from the plane in Hong Kong, but it begins to show the beauty of the water as well.

This is not the best picture as it is from the airport window, but I am struck by how it seems tall buildings are carved out of the mountains in Hong Kong.

I really like the ticket reader at the Beijing Airport that says thank you every time a ticket is read.  I thought I was needing to get on board or I would have tried to get a longer clip of this when the line was moving quickly.  Xai Xai is thank you.  I think phonetically it is more like shay shay.

The cantilevered overhang is very striking.  My understanding is that originally it was going to be even longer.

I was in Beijing from Sunday night until early Tuesday morning.  I flew into the traditional terminal at the airport, but flew out of the new Terminal 3.  It was pretty futuristic.  It was hazy and sunrise as I arrived at the airport.  Looking one way I thought it reminded me of Spacely Sprockets and the other way of Cogswell’s Cogs.
